Jack
Shriver Sr. started fishing muskie's in the early 1970's.
Jack has fished most all the muskie waters of Minnesota
and has been on many muskie hunts to Ontario as well.
Jack started his fishing guide service full-time in 1991
where he's easily logs over 100 days of fishing each
season.
In 2000 Jack was looking for a heavy duty buzz bait for
himself and his clients. There wasn't one one on the market
that held up to big muskie's, so he started to design
and experiment with his first muskie bait prototype, the
HiJACKer Buzz Bait Model A. The Model A was a success
that proved it could catch muskies and would hold up to
the big girls. The following year Jack tweaked his original
design by adding 2 delta blades and two single hooks which
evolved into the HiJACKer
Buzz Bait Model B. The Model B is a bigger target
bait and also makes more disturbance on the surface of
the water. This bait also proved to be deadly on muskie's
In 2002 the Shriver line of muskie lures was growing.
Jack designed the tandem spinner specifically to fish
in the thick reeds and heavy cover. The tandem spinner
works awesome in the figure-8 and it trolls true up
to 7 mph and also fishes
great as an open water spinner. In 2004, two
new lures debuted, the 2 blade straight spinner and
the single blade straight line lure that works well
on early season muskie and northern pike.
Three
new models have been added for 2006. An easy
starting buzz Bait (Model C), A single blade
spinner with flutted blade and two hooks and
a lighter tandem spinner with an interchangable
flutted blade.
Both Jack and his son Jack Jr. along with their
fishing clients were having phenomenal success
catching muskie's with their new HiJACKer lures.
Soon thereafter, Jack's muskie lure business
was launched. You can find SHRIVER'S MUSKIE
HiJACKer line of lures at Reed's Sporting goods stores and many fine retail
bait and tackle shops in the upper midwest.
